Wrapping up a year of changing lives with NABC Recycled Rides®

Caliber and our family of brands, Caliber Collision, Caliber Auto Glass and Caliber Auto Care, have proudly teamed up with our insurance partners and the National Auto Body Council® (NABC) and its NABC Recycled Rides® program for over a decade. Together, we have gifted reliable transportation to hundreds of individuals and families, empowering them to return to daily activities that matter to them, such as getting to work, going to medical appointments, school and more. 

The NABC Recycled Rides® partnership is a part of our Restoring You™ program, where our dedicated Caliber teammates graciously volunteer their time and expertise to refurbish vehicles to like-new condition for active duty and retired military members, first responders and other deserving families in need. It’s an opportunity for Caliber teammates to live our Purpose of Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life® in communities across the country, gifting more than 550 vehicles since our NABC relationship began in 2012, and more than 20 vehicles in 2023.

Most recently, Caliber participated in several life-changing NABC Recycled Rides® events:

  • At our Caliber Collision center in Roseville, CA, Isaac, a father of six, received the gift of a 2019 Hyundai Elantra, donated by Travelers Insurance and restored by our Caliber teammates. Isaac previously biked 16 miles round trip daily to work and walked his children to school, but now has a renewed quality of life.

  • During the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Celebration in Las Vegas, we presented a 2015 Kia Optima to Glen, a Navy veteran, improving his commute to his new job as a medical assistant. Our Caliber team also unveiled a 2019 Toyota RAV4 to Luciana, a burn survivor, who can now attend her medical appointments and better manage daily errands. Insurance partner Geico kindly donated both vehicles.

  • The Airpower Foundation’s Sky Ball XXI event, held in Arlington, TX, is an annual fundraiser supporting military service members, veterans, and their families. Caliber has participated for several years, surprising deserving individuals with vehicles and providing them with newfound independence.
    • During this year’s event, we recognized Lindsey, currently stationed at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, TX. Lindsey and her husband have four young children and live on a single income. Their family vehicle had high mileage and required expensive repairs. Lindsey received a 2017 Ford Fusion, donated by Geico, and now has a reliable car to provide for her family.
    • Nautica serves in the U.S. Army and is stationed at Fort Cavazos in Killeen, TX. She’s a single mother of a toddler and expecting her second child soon. The gift of a 2017 Hyundai Elantra, also donated by Geico, ensures Nautica arrives to work on time and no longer must depend on others to coordinate rides. Nautica can spend more quality time with her family while fulfilling her service to our country.

Caliber’s alliance with the National Auto Body Council® extends beyond NABC Recycled Rides® involvement. As a leader in automotive services, we proudly collaborate with NABC to positively impact every community we serve, including providing tactical leadership input. This year, our strategic accounts director, Shirin Hezar, was elected to the NABC board of directors. Her role is pivotal in reinforcing Caliber’s commitment to this partnership, building awareness of NABC, and creating new opportunities to elevate our industry.
